SDH/SONET SDH/SONET - Fiber to the Office

Cross Connect Configuration

At the central office, E1/T1 links from different customer offices are consolidated using the DXC multiservice access node, which splits the traffic to different services, performs cross connect between links, and grooms the traffic over an E3/T3 or STM-1/OC-3 uplink to the SDH/SONET network. Multiple services (voice, data, ISDN) used by a business customer are groomed onto a single E1/T1 link using RAD's FCD-E1A E1 access units or Megaplex-2100 access multiplexer or by a FOM-E1/T1 fiber optic modem.
