RAD Expert on Utility Communications to Address EUTC 2011

Future-Proof Solutions Ensure Reliable Performance for Teleprotection and Smart Grid Applications in SDH and PSN Environments

A representative of RAD Data Communications is among the telecommunications industry experts who are scheduled to address EUTC 2011, the annual gathering of the European Utilities Telecom Conference, which opens in Madrid on October 26.

Kobi Gol, RAD’s business development and solutions manager for utilities and migration, will discuss “Network Support for Systems Moving to Ethernet/IP” on Thursday, October 27 at 1:45 PM.

During the conference, RAD will be exhibiting its hybrid SDH/PSN multiservice access solutions, which are purpose-built to ensure an easy and cost-effective transition to next-generation communications without service disruptions. These devices support existing voice and RTU at substations while enabling utilities to introduce smart grid applications, high bandwidth video surveillance and IEC 61850 compliant devices into their T&D grids. Most importantly, they ensure reliable performance for Teleprotection and mission critical applications in both SDH and PSN environments.

In his talk, Mr. Gol will explain how, by applying an intelligent and flexible migration strategy, utilities can avoid the need to invest in new access equipment when core networks are replaced, as well as to maintain telemetry, SCADA and other TDM applications over packet transport.
