Mobile Backhaul over a GbE Ring

Your Needs:

Highly resilient backhaul of base station traffic over fiber, with extension over IP/MPLS and aggregation at a BSC.

Our Solution:

Use RAD’s IPmux-24 TDM pseudowire units to backhaul traffic from up to 16 BTSs over a highly resilient and lower cost GbE ring to an IP/MPLS backbone, ideal for Greenfield deployments or where SDH/SONET access is not available. You can aggregate at a BSC for reduction of CapEx and OpEx.

Benefits:

  • Backhaul E1/T1 lines from up to 16 base stations over fiber with a resilient under 50 msec recovery ring
  • Eliminate the need for SDH/SONET access network and transport BTS traffic over IP/MPLS
  • Aggregate BTS traffic at the BSC for reduced CapEx and OpEx
  • High precision clock recovery for mobile backhaul traffic over PSN
  • Full central management for provisioning and monitoring
  • Standard compliant with TDMoIP, CESoPSN, SAToP, HDLCoPSN and CESoEth. MEF-9 and MEF-14 certified.
  • The ring control messages run over dedicated reserved VLANs
