Dr. Daniel Kofman was appointed Chief Technology Officer of RAD Data Communications in 2006. Daniel is also a professor at Telecom ParisTech, were he headed the “Networks, Mobility and Security” research lab. Over the past 15 years he served as a consultant for several companies (carriers, manufacturers, venture capital firms) and public organizations, such as the European Commission. He is the chairman of the steering committee of the Network of Excellence “Euro-NF, Anticipating the Network of the Future” (which was known as Euro-NGI in the previous FP6 phase), an initiative of the European parliament, whose members include Europe’s most prominent experts in the field.
Among his various activities, Daniel is member of the scientific committee of the French parliament. He also founded two telecommunications start-ups.
Dr. Kofman's contributions focus both on technology and in his strategic vision of future markets. His primary areas of professional expertise have been present and future networking technologies and network architecture design and engineering, including topics such as all-IP networking and Carrier Ethernet, global convergence of networks and services, the future of the Internet, future cellular networks (beyond 3G), global mobility, self-organization and self-management, wireless sensor networks, and opportunistic networking.
Daniel has authored a book on high-speed networking and more than 60 professional papers. He is regularly invited to speak at international industry events.
